Past Elections
The MDI Graduate Scholars Association maintains an archive of its elections to provide a transparent record of nominations and the selection of officers.
2026 to 2027 (Founding Year)
Executive Officers Required: Three (3)
Candidate Nomination Period:
Monday June 8th to Tuesday June 23rd, 2026
Nominated Candidates:
- Deanna Armenti (declined)
- Kaede Ashizawa (declined)
- Chris Blomkwist (accepted)
- Lee Eldridge (accepted)
- Juan Saavedra (accepted)
As the number of nominated candidates who accepted their nomination matched the minimum required number of available officer positions, a contested ballot was not require.
The three nominees were selected to serve as the Association's officers, and submitted for approval to the TMGSU. Approval was received via email on July 21st 2026.
Getting Involved
Information about future nominations and elections will be communicated to the MDI student community in accordance with the Association's governing procedures. Following each election, the results will be added to this archive.
- The election cycle begins with Nominations at the beginning of March. The Nomination period is no less than 14 days long. Nominees must accept their nomination to appear on the ballot.
- Voting occurs after nominations close. All voting must be concluded before the last Friday in March.
- Newly elected officers assume their role July 1st of the same year.
- Officers are elected for a single academic year (July 1st of the year elected through June 30th of the following year).
